How to activate Debug Mode
- Press Shift + Delete or Shift + F7 while playing to toggle Debug Mode enabling both Cheats and Tools listed below.
- Prior to Nova Drift 0.99 (beta) or 1.0, you did not have to hold Shift while pressing either of the above keys.
There is no visual cue for the Debug Mode activation, after pressing Delete or F7 you can freely use Debugging Cheats / Tools with the keys listed in the tables below.

Debugging Cheats
Key | Functionality |

0 | Spawn a high-health, passive dummy enemy (useful for testing your DPS), add 100 seconds to the wave timeout, and show debug readout |
9 | Stop waves from advancing, or start them again (various game events will automatically start them again) |
7 | Stop Celestial Hazards from occurring, or start them again |
F11 | Stop waves from advancing and instantly destroy all enemies, targets, and powerups |
B | Level up - Gain 1 Upgrade Point |
G | Spawn Comets |
H | Toggle debug readout and FPS meter |
I | Spawn Enemy Cargo Trains |
J | Spawn a Hyperboost Powerup |
K | Destroy all enemies on screen |
L | Destroy the player |
M | Spawn Singularity, or despawn Singularity if one is present |
N | Gain 1 Reroll (or 10 if you press ctrl + N) |
O | Advance to the next wave |
P | Destroy your constructs |
U | Fully restore your Hull and Shield |
Y | Teleport all enemies to the center of the screen (use if an enemy is stuck off-screen) |
Debugging Tools
- Press [ or ] to toggle through three other tools:
- After selecting the tool in the method explained above use - or = to toggle through the choices for each tool (choice shown in the top right corner of the screen) and the INSERT key to perform the choice.
You can hold control to add larger increments in the debug wave interface. (Hold Ctrl for +/- 10 waves at a time. Hold Alt for +/- 100 waves at a time) |

Combat and Wave Log Tools
- To enable the Combat Log press backtick (`) or tilde (~). Once Combat Log has been enabled press `/~ plus SHIFT to toggle the Wave Log
Combat Log is not considered cheating and doesn't require the Debug Mode to be activated

Key | Functionality |

F5 | End the run and begin the ending animation (in Nova Drift 1.0) |
F6 | Toggle through background music tracks (does not include or change boss wave music) |
F8 | Toggle automatic gameplay (the simulated gameplay is not very smart, so it is also prevented from dying) |
Page Up (PgUp) | Increase game simulation speed 2x per press, limited by your computer's performance |
Page Down (PgDn) | Reset game simulation speed to normal |
