Hazards ◆ Singularity
Description[]
- Singularity is a type of hazard in Nova Drift, occurring randomly during the run or spawned by enemies (currently, Scion).
- Singularities pull nearly everything with the force of their gravity: the player, enemies, friendly and enemy projectiles, Asteroids and Experience Orbs. However, player constructs are not pulled or damaged by singularities.
- Contact with the black circle of a singularity is harmful. Projectiles and orbs are destroyed instantly, and enemies take high damage over time, killing all but the toughest. However, the player cannot be directly killed by a Singularity; it removes a percent of the current hull and shields over time, leaving the player with very low health.
- If the player is fully sucked into the singularity, the screen will briefly turn black, and then the player will reappear from the bottom-left corner with a few seconds of invulnerability.

Trivia[]
- Singularities dealt 9000 damage per second to enemies until Patch V0.20.11 when it was changed to 9001 by popular demand.
- Hazards spawn with at least 1 second between them, plus a random amount of time waited: up to 116⅔ seconds, modified by any Challenge Modes. 1 out of 18 is a singularity and the rest are comets.[1]
- ↑ Chimeric on the Nova Drift Discord:
- "A comet or singularity appears this often, in frames:
60 + irandom(7000) * global.hostileUniverseTimeMult;
One out of 18 times that comet is a singularity."
